Katrina Darrell Sex Tape

This is Katrina Darrell. Katrina Darrell’s popularity has skyrocketed since she appeared on American Idol’s season premiere last night.

“Oh,” you’re thinking, “She must be a fabulous new vocal talent, wowing the judges right up front and possibly the winner of this year’s American Idol.”

Sorry. That’s not it. Katrina Darrell’s an overnight sensation because she appeared at the American Idol auditions in a bikini… and then got lippy with new judge Kara DioGuardi.

While DioGuardi didn’t think Darrell ‘had the chops’ for the song she sang, the male judges on the panel (perhaps with visions of sugarplums DioGuardi and Darrell mudwrestling to settle their differences) seemed to think she deserved to get through to Hollywood. 

(A side note from fracas: Darrell does have a nice voice, and sang her audition piece rather nicely. It was once DioGuardi prompted her to repeat portions of the selection, that it became clear her voice still needs a bit of work… hence, not ‘having the chops’ for that song. I don’t think Darrell expects to honestly get through to the finalists, I think she’s setting herself up for fame of another sort.)

And so it begins.

This morning, the interweave is chock full of sites willing to provide you with a reminder shot of the bikini-clad Darrell, as well as a bit of Darrell history. TMZ has labeled her ’skank bit’ to be a genuine thing… providing her LovinLife Creative Media modeling reel as proof and corroborating it with a link to her involvement in a clothing line they deem “so trashy, even Shauna Sand wouldn’t be caught dead in ‘em.”

Fracas tries to be fair and at the same time, provide fraccers with their daily entertainment as well as an outlet for all their doll-sticking pin-worthy moments in life, so of course I’m going to give you all the Katrina Darrell links, photos and videos you require.

Oh… it hasn’t surfaced yet, but I’m sure it will.

Who knows? With her stated ambition to ‘make out’ with Ryan Seacrest, and have his children (whose names have already been chosen by her own admission), that sex tape might even be a double dose of Hollywood hijinks.

So where’s the pin-worthy moment in all of this?

It’s about Simon.

Poor Simon.

I’ve always liked Simon. It upsets me that while it’s so clear Simon had some help from Willy in making his decision about sending Darrell through to Hollywood, she’s so blatantly shunning him and opting for Seacrest instead. The lunacy of it.

Seacrest doesn’t have a vote.

Sorry folks… just couldn’t resist. I think the American Idol producers should be commended. Antonella Barba was good for show. Why leave all of that to chance again when they could just encourage their own home-grown scandal and count on a sure thing?
